Onosato, Kirishima Sharp in Ichimon Keiko

November 2, 2026

With the Kyushu basho less than a week away, the ichimon held their joint practice sessions on November 2nd. At Sadogatake-beya, Yokozuna Onosato went 20 straight bouts with Ozeki Kotozakura and came away 14-6, mixing his right-hand inside grip with moro-zashi and left-hand ottsuke. His stablemaster Nishonoseki said he looks considerably better than he did before the Aki basho. Over at Tokitsukaze-beya, Ozeki Kirishima went 15-1 against Daieisho, Wakamotoharu and Tokihayate but insisted his tachi-ai still lacks pressure, explaining that he has kept his pre-basho workload light after picking up nagging injuries in past Kyushu tournaments.
