Kakuryu and Endoh battle for fourth time
Mar.
03 - Endoh was roughed up again by Kakuryu today who sparred with the M1
19 times winning 18 of those bouts. The Yokozuna-hopeful, Kakuryu,
charged low and focused on grabbing a frontal belt grip before
initiating his attack, and it was a strategy for which Endoh had no
answer. Mainoumi, who was on hand to view the practice session commented
on Kakuryu's sumo, "He's staying low with his knees bent and leaning
forward, and it's a position that's very difficult to break down. After
yesterday's keiko, the record between Kakuryu and Endoh stood at 63-3 in
favor of the Ozeki. It's being reported that Kakuryu needs at least 13
wins and the yusho in order to clinch promotion to Yokozuna. When asked
for comments afterwards, Kakuryu responded, "I need to do in keiko the
things I need to to during the basho. I'm not nervous at all." |
