Kakuryu and Endoh's thang continues for 3rd
day

28th - Ozeki Kakuryu and M1 Endoh clashed for the third day in a row
today at the Tokitsukaze-beya while other sekitori in attendance
included Komusubi Toyonoshima, Tokitenku, Sotairyu, and Asasekiryu.
Kakuryu fought a total of 20 bouts on the day while Endoh sparred 18
times with the sekitori in attendance; however, the two did fight each
other nine times with Kakuryu dominating again going 8-1. That result
means the three day record between the two rikishi si 47-2 in favor of
Kakuryu although Kakuryu's only loss today did come at the hands of the
youngster. Toyonoshima, who battled Kakuryu as well, commented
afterwards, "He's hitting like a rock and feels so heavy right now." As
for Kakuryu when asked about his tachi-ai, he replied, "I can't tell
myself, " but his stable master, Izutsu-oyakata, added, "His legs are
firmly planted, and he's striking low, so it adds weight to his charge."
As for Endoh, he fought nine times against the other sekitori making his
presence felt a bit managing a 7-2 record. "I'm just glad that I can
fight different sekitori," he explained. |
