The thread for your last messages to our late Ozeki.

As always apologies to Doitsuyama for ripping content from his site.

Great in his prime, though, wish he could have gone out near the top of his ability, I would never have allowed a Sekiwake visit if it was me.

Over the years one of the most entertaining rikishi, and one of my favorites.  Declined in his dotagge, as will Martin.

A great Ozeki, an entertaining rikishi to watch, the best tsuppari fighter of the decade.

He missed the right basho to quit, but at least in the wrong basho he choose the right bout as his last one.

Farewell Chiyo, i will miss you!

Entertaining, different, a lot of interesting things, but all in all, a one-trick-pony. Which is puzzling, considering his karate experience. A good, long run. The good thing about all this is that it gets the "logjam" shaken up. With Mickey having a lot of trouble and new guys rising (finally) to the top of the banzuke, we may see an entirely different roster in about a year.

Seisset: I had to read your 2nd sentence about 5 times before I could get it to settle down... But it made sense...
