Again, my highlights are an early shipping of the Cup, and now a six-point yusho lead in TUG.

In the Masters games, I recovered in SG with a surprising fifth-straight win over Chishafuwaku for 4-6.  Missed in Bench for 6-4.  Average in DST.  Won in ISP.  MKs already in Toto (!) and Quad, though we'll see what the modified results are in Quad at the end.  (Still, not expecting KK, regardless.)  Just missed in TTT to just slip out of the top 10.  And missed in Odd again.  I'll need one more hit if I'm going to stay in sanyaku.

A pretty miserable and damaging day as I lost in all the games except SG, where I was lucky that Tama woke up

You're welcome! Now get that KK, will ya?

Congrats first to Jan and Jezz who got their 8th wins today!

Seb won again and is the co-leader with Kitakachiyama, who he has already beaten.  Both of the leaders are brought up to face sanyaku tomorrow and Seb gets Kuroimori...will the cash in the envelope be enough??  Jan may not be inclined to accept any bribes though as he is very much in this race too, and a win over Seb tomorrow will put him right up there.

Everyone else in Makuuchi except for the Panda and Renaud is in negative territory, with four of us on the brink of MK.

Juryo looks very rosy indeed.  Miyako and Seisset are now leading with Jakusotsu.  Hal lost to his stable mate today but is just off the pace.  Ronnie and Stefan get another stab at KK tomorrow.  And Mark won to go into positive numbers.

Jezz wins to go 8-3 and he'll be hoping for 10 or 11 so he can get a much needed boost up the banzuke.

The dailies are slowly swirling down the drain, and only Toto looks viable for serious points.  SG could be OK if I win out, but my priority there is KK so that's all I care about for the moment.  Had an easy win today and basically I've been lucky that this is a good-luck basho, to make up for my nightmare 15 AADs against last time.  2 more wins.  Lost in Bench, but it was impossible to win and I'm actually happy to give Owl the points as I am out of Masters contention while he could do very well.  Won Toto but everything else was a mess. 1-10 in TTT is hilarious!

The pre-basho scene is a lot better after some amazing recoveries.  I'll be deep into the top ten in UDH after today and am doing well in Hoshitori and Oracle too.  With a bit of luck, I may even get something from PO, but I'll need Shin and Onosho to stop arsing around.

And another loss in the Baka Cup shows I like this cup...for the moment.  2-9 there.

Finally, a clean sweep!

(Minus Odd.)

Including a 9-8 win for four in a row (through the previous three basho) against Norizo in SG for a halfway decent 5-6; an 8-man GBL to overcome Norizo's perfect-day-with-second-bench-win; probably a considerable extension in my TUG lead; and a perfect day in DST to put myself less than two tenths of a point behind the KK/MK line.

JUST WHAT I NEEDED!

And what madness is this?  4th in Salarycap (as of day 10).  6th place in Bingo.  19th in NC.  25th in POG.  Perhaps there are a few points to be had here, after all.

Seb won again and is in a real battle with Kitakachiyama, who has won it three times in the past.  Seb gets a sekiwake tomorrow so he'll need to be on his game again, but he's picking well.

Sadly Owl and Chisha fell to losing records.  Owl is in real danger of demotion now so I'm hoping he can win out.  Miyako and Seisset won again to keep the lead at 10-2 with Jakusotsu.

Another poor day for the Panda, crowned by my not putting Endo top in SG despite my original plan to do so.  Idiotic.  I now need two out of three against strong players so I'll need some luck.  The only other game I won was Quad, where I have chances of small change.  The Toto loss was particularly galling and I want to win out there now, as that's the only daily where I can get a decent score.

The pre-basho games basically come down to Hoshitori, UDH and Oracle, where I'm doing pretty well.  I may sneak small change in PO and even Salarycap if the right jun yusho come in...realistically, I'd need Onosho AND Asanoyama to get J-Y along with Ama.  Unlikely.

Need a couple of good days.  GAMBARIMASU!

Day 12 brings another sweep!

(Minus Odd.)

(And TUG.)

(But close enough.)

A fortunate 6-5 win for 6-6 in SG (and 5-0 against Derosa.  How I manage so many streaks against so many players is bizarre.)  A 9-8 win in Bench for an early KK there, and--I suppose--faint yusho and not-so-faint Masters hopes.  Now above KK/MK in DST.  A far more respectable 6-6 in ISP (and ranked in the top half of the field now).  In a tie for 7th in TTT.

Down to 9th in Bingo.

What a strange day.

Speaking of inexplicable streaks, Yassier makes it four in a row against me over four basho in SG, for a worrisome 6-7.  Yet, somehow, I get an 8-5 win over him in Bench for a lovely 9-4 there.  Slipped in DST, and if Endo had just decided to win, I would have exploded into the top four or so in Odd (and also won in TUG).  Wins in ISP and Quad round out the day.  Now 4-9 in Toto.  Still tied for 7th in TTT.

And still 9th in Bingo.

And only 10-3 in the Cup!

Anyone else notice how the SG results from yesterday are messed up?  For example, look at the Pandaazuma vs. Konostato result.  SG has the match 7-6 in favor of Panda.  A closer look at the NSK site results shows Tochio, Geeku, Arawashi and Ishiura losing with Asanoyama winning.  So the actual result should be 4-5 with Panda losing. (Sorry Simon!)

Sorry Haidouzo.  While your SG score should change to 3-4, the result remains the same.

They finally fixed the SG site for Day 13. Congrats if the scoring adjustment helped your cause and my condolences if it set you back a tad.
