As most posts in this forum are several years old, I don't expect anyone  to respond or even care, but here it is anyway: Even though it is always heralded, there is hardly ever a 15th day report or a post-basho comment from any of the regular columnists. Right now it is six days past the Fukuoka tournament, and still no final report.  I know this site isn't a money-maker for any of you, but  if you promise you're going to do something, then get off your asses and do it. Of course now that I've found Jason's All-Sumo Channel on Youtube, there is no need to rely on any of your comments or amateurish attempts at humor in order to keep up with sumo. Clancy, Mike, et al, take a hike.

Geeeeez, Clancy. Is that the best you can do? Walking eggplant? Broken Broccoli? Flaccid Fromage? Silly Cilantro? Pathetic Papaya? Wilted Watermelon? Tainted Tomato? Rancid Rutabaga?

Here's how to do it properly. Take notes, learn from The Master.

Ake-chan

Do NOT let the door strike your hip on the way out.

You actually can ENJOY that Jason in Japan guy?  Whatever.

FTR, there WAS a Day 15 for Fuk U Oka.

Mike has three teen sons who play ball and demand a lot of his time, plus a wife i KNOW he likes to keep "happy," and with sumo having undergone an excitement lobotomy, as well as being quite clearly a chummy little backscratching enterprise, he just doesn't see the need to rehash it all.

Finally, to denigrate our work while asking for more is insanely f-u-c-k-e-d up in my opinion.  As are you, I presume.

Enjoy your life as a walking eggplant.

Thought I noticed a small glitch in Harvye's Daily Report.  He twice refers to Sokokurai as Mongolian.  Thought he was the sole Chinese in Sumo.  According to the sumo.or.jp site, they think he is Chinese too:

Sokokurai Eikichi
Heya    Arashio
Name    Enhetubuxin
Ring Name History    Sokokurai ? Sokokurai
Rank    Maegashira #10
Date of Birth    January 9, 1984
Place of Birth    China
Height    185.0cm
Weight    146.0kg
Favorite Grip/Techniques    migi-yotsu/yori, nage

Very minor and insignificant point I know...

Edit: Actually, a birthplace search on the sumo.or.jp site turned up a second guy from China now:

West Sandanme #9    Kosei    China

Sokokurai is from Inner Mongolia, which is indeed part of China.  That to which we normally refer to as "Mongolia" (aka the Republic of...) had been known as Outer Mongolia. So they're both right.
